Although The Magician's Nephew was the sixth book C.S. Lewis wrote about the land of Narnia, it is the story which explains how it all began. Polly and Digory are tricked by Digory's wicked Uncle Andrew into vanishing to the 'Other World'. Together they watch the lamp-post 'grow' up out of the ground and listen to Aslan's song as he creates the magic land of Narnia, full of sun, flowers, grass, walking trees and talking animals.
